Let me just sneak this in here…#excerpt

“Bailey, if I can be honest with you.” He shifted in the seat, facing her. “I’ve barely been able to stop thinking about you ever since the first time I saw you. It was there, in Starbucks, my first week here in Atlanta. I walked through the door and you looked up, smiled at me, and I just about died right then and there. Even if I’d stopped in to ask for directions, I would have taken up coffee drinking at that moment just to keep seeing you.”

Her chest rose, fell. Her fingers gripped the bottom of the jersey, but she remained silent, letting him continue.

“If I was a different man, maybe I would have taken you up on your offer that night. But I could tell that something wasn’t right, that something had happened, and I didn’t want to ruin my chances of doing what we’re doing together right now.”

She began nibbling on her top lip. “What are we doing together right now? Is this a…date?”

“To me, it is. Our first one.”

“First?” She laughed, shy and breathless. “First assumes you want more.”

“I’ve already gotten the second one planned.” So he was layering his honesty with a little bit of charm, but he was mostly happy at the fact that words were leaving his mouth at all. “If you’re interested.”

The nibbling increased and he tried not to let his gaze linger too long on her mouth. Her lips looked soft and inviting, and he’d bet every penny of his net worth that they were.

“So you just want to get to know me? No sex?”

“Well, wait.” She giggled and it made him grin. “I’m not saying that I want to be friends. I came here with friends. I’m saying that I want you. All of you.”

“Not just the good parts?”

A torrid, erotic heat exchanged between them that neither pretended not to notice. The sexual attraction was there, at least on his end, and what was on his end was more than enough for them both.

“Bailey, I’m sure every single part of you is good.”
